Job Functions:
Full-time lab-based position with benefits.
Assignments can include but are not limited to:
* sterilization of materials
* cleaning of labware and glassware
* creation of medias and solutions
* cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment
* supporting validation and qualification of equipment
* use of electronic data systems
* ordering and routine inventory of shared stockrooms, lab spaces, and compressed gas cage
* unpacking and transport of commercial media
* disposal of regulated medical and biohazardous waste
* performing aseptic techniques
Requires use of the following lab tools and equipment: autoclaves, glassware washers, analytical and micro balances, pH meters, mechanical and serological pipettes, biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, water baths, kettles, ovens, and temperature-controlled units such as freezers, refrigerators, cold rooms, and incubators, etc. Both written procedures and verbal instructions will be executed with attention to safety and quality. Strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations is required. Tasks will require working in laboratory areas using established procedures, and proper documentation for regulatory agencies where applicable.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, Dayshift
Working Conditions:
Employees will be fully trained on personal protection practices, provided clothing and protective equipment, and are required to follow all safety procedures as provided by the company where specified. The position may require the employee to work with chemical and biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled (including agents which may potentially affect reproductive health and/or development of the fetus).
Education Requirements:
Applicants with no degree are encouraged to apply.
Experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus.
Experience with stockroom/inventory work is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely and compliantly perform required job functions. This includes being able to lift up to 52 lbs, perform tasks using fine motor skills, stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat and kneel as needed, and perform tasks repetitively. Must be able to safely and compliantly operate equipment required for this position.
Skills:
Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting either collaboratively or individually to achieve goals. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and proactive approaches are required.
Estimated total compensation for this position:
37,000.00 - 41,000.00 USD per year
The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
