The Impact You Can Make Under the direction of the Point of Care Supervisor, the Laboratory Support Services Coordinator is responsible for the evaluation and monitoring of all phases of specimen waived testing and results generated by health care providers and employees of Glens Falls Hospital performed outside of the traditional laboratory setting.The Laboratory Support Services Coordinator will assist in the daily operations of Laboratory Support Services and perform required administrative functions.Team Impact Performs internal HR functions for Lab Support Services (setting up interview, coordinating employee start dates, scheduling training for new hires and outside departments, delegates staff scheduling)The Glens Falls Hospital ImpactMission Our Mission is to improve the health of people in our region by providing access to exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care every day and in every setting.How You Will Fulfill Your PotentialResponsibilities•Provides assistance to Point of Care testing staff (troubleshooting); may include visiting sites •Performs miscellaneous billing functions for the laboratory (i.e. mismatched dates) •Reviews pending logs for Reference Lab and any requested departments •Completes required laboratory statistics (Team Health, draw station volumes) •Assists with Point of Care testing procedure documentation and distributionQualificationsEducation/Accredited Programs •High school diploma or GED •Associates degree in biological, chemical sciences or Medical Technology preferred •3-5 years experience in laboratory, medical or quality focused environment Licenses/Certifications/Registrations •Valid New York State Driver's License Skills/Abilities •Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and instrument printouts. Ability to document brief reports relating to areas of responsibility. •Ability to communicate and respond to questions from staff, patients and physicians in both verbal and written forms. •Ability to solve problems regarding instrumentation, technical procedures and test results. Communicates and documents corrective actions that need to be implemented. •Ability to evaluate testing procedures for precision, accuracy, linearity, parallel testing and reference range determination.
