***POSITION IS FULLY ONSITE***Position Description:Facility Equipment and Laboratory Maintenance
- Coordinate with Ford Land to ensure all laboratory and facility equipment is tracked in Maximo
- Maintenance record keeping
- Equipment reference list
- Vendor relationships
Lab Facilities, Equipment, and Capital Planning/Acquisition
- Attend initial project review meetings to understand scope and scale
- Work order management on smaller projects
- Placarding, protag, EPCL verification for all projects
RIC Laboratory Chemical Tracking
- Fill requests for stocked chemicals within RIC Labs
- Fill requests for newly received chemicals
- Restock and dispose of unwanted chemicals
- Update and maintain the chemical inventory system
Asset Management Support
- Assist with physical asset tagging of company assets over $250k
- Coordinate asset disposals
- Assist finance with yearly asset verifications
General Business Office Department Support
- Support Business Continuity Plan (BCP), including verification of lab list
- Storage at RIC
- Oversee Bay Logistics Storage Processes
Skills Required:
- Laboratory Equipment: operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of common laboratory equipment. Familiarity with specialized equipment relevant to the specific lab (this will vary greatly).
- Chemical Handling: Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices, storage, and disposal procedures. Experience with chemical inventory management systems.
- Asset Management: Understanding of asset tracking, maintenance scheduling, and depreciation. Experience with asset management software or databases is a plus.
- Facility Maintenance: Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and their role in maintaining a safe and functional lab environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting), and potential experience with AutoCAD for drafting laboratory design layouts.

- Organization and Time Management: Essential for multiple responsibilities, meeting deadlines, and ensuring smooth lab operations.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment or facility issues.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with researchers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Critical for maintaining accurate records, following safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, lab managers, and other support staff to maintain a productive and safe working environment.
Experience Required:
- 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, ideally with exposure to equipment maintenance or facilities support.
Education Required:
- A bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering) would be a strong asset, demonstrating a fundamental understanding of lab environments.
- Alternatively, an associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemical Technology) combined with relevant work experience would also be suitable.
