LAB TECHNOLOGIST (MT/CLS) (2)WJM Professionals is recruiting for a Lab Technologist to provide personal medical services to all Active-Duty beneficiaries. within the capabilities normally granted to a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT/CLS). The Contractors will provide professional services to U.S. Coast Guard locations. Shall perform a full range of Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist professional concepts and practices on site, to a variety of patients. Perform laboratory testing and evaluation including interpretation of tests in the areas of:
- Hematology;
- Urinalysis;
- Other CLIA-Waived Tests
- Perform evaluation and interpretation of tests in the areas of:
- Bacteriology;
- Chemistry;
- Special Chemistry;
- Blood Bank;
- Serology;
- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system;
- Fulfill the duties of a laboratory technical consultant for a moderately-complex laboratory as defined by CLIA; Prepare, manage and submit appropriate documentation testing related to Clinic Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA);
- Implement policies and procedures for monitoring individuals who conduct preanalytical, analytical and postanalytical phases of testing to assure that they are competent and maintain their competency to process specimens, perform test procedures and report test results promptly and proficiently, and whenever necessary, identify needs for remedial training or continuing education to improve skills;
- Order Medical Laboratory supplies;
- Restock Medical Laboratory supplies;
- Inventory Medical Laboratory supplies to ensure adequate supplies and controls;
- Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur;
- Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations;
- Participate in the Quality Improvement (QI) program of the clinic;
- Other administrative duties as may be assigned by the Clinic Administrator;
QUALIFICATIONS. The provider of MT/CLS services shall possess and maintain the following:
A diploma from an accredited school of Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science. (Bachelors degree at a minimum).Current certification as an MT or CLS with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).Maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).A minimum of two (2) years of recent (immediately preceding the submission of this offer) clinical experience in providing MT/CLS services. No adverse information on file with the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB).Credential Review. The contractor shall submit the following credentials to be evaluated for technical acceptability.
- Current resume including AT LEAST the following information
- Degrees earned
- Awards and certifications received.
- Previous work references including the name of the organization, number of years rendered, address and name of point of contract with telephone number
- Professional organization affiliations and memberships;
- Professional Training/Courses attended in the past two years.
- Career history;
- Date of birth (to be used only for independent query of the NPDB);
- Social Security Number;
- Professional Experience;
COPIES NEEDED:
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP);
- Current certification as an MT or CLS with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP);
- Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Science (a Polaroid picture is acceptable as a copy);
- A diploma from an accredited school
- At least three (3) letters of recommendation from recent employers addressing Medical Laboratory services.
