SUMMARY: The Media Product Manager is responsible for the media product strategy for pertinent product lines, including the product life cycle, new product introductions, and customer-facing programs. The Media Product manager is expected to be the evangelist for their product lines while managing their portion of the Media business from a revenue and profitability standpoint. The Media Product Manager will typically be responsible for developing and launching products and services in new markets or for new technologies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCT ADMINISTRATION:

Responsible for all administrative details for relevant product lines such as ERP data, part number maintenance, datasheets, and marketing documentation.

PRODUCT HIERARCHY:

Responsible for all product hierarchy assignments and maintenance within the ERP system used to segment the products for measurement and analysis.

NEW PRODUCT INNOVATION:

Responsible for understanding the leading edge of technology related to their product lines, including new product introductions into the SAL market by competitors and suppliers.

Responsible for understanding the current unmet customer pain points that could be met with new products and/or services.

PROGRAM SUPPORT: Responsible for all aspects of media programs, including but not limited to setting program participants, stocking levels, pricing, and support documentation.

COMPETITIVE ASSESSMENT AND POSITIONING:

It is critical for SATO America to understand how we compare to the competition within our markets and geographies.

Assessing and communicating this understanding internally to relevant teams.

Partnering with the other SAL departments to develop projects to address gaps and accentuate strengths.

RAW MATERIAL CHANGES:

Responsible for all raw material changes impacting the product. This includes the identification of alternative raw materials, transition of all finished goods to the new raw material, customer engagement activities related to raw material change, communication of the change both internally and externally, and the closing of the raw material change project. These activities will be managed jointly with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Technical Services.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. This may involve implementing lean manufacturing principles, optimizing production workflows, and utilizing new technologies or methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity and support the introduction of new equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's Degree in a related field, Engineering or Materials Science helpful

Knowledge of thermal and laser-based consumable products and their fit to end-use applications.

Minimum of two years experience in product management.

B2B experience with a multi-tiered channel sales model

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, including public speaking

Strong organizational and time management skills with a history of results-driven project management and cross-functional team leadership.

Ability to diagnose customer requirements and identify the best product to meet those requirements.

Ability to develop and implement product roadmap plans and launch products into the market.

Demonstrated ability to create a business case to justify and fulfill improvements and or product-related strategies.

Must possess strong business acumen.

Ability to manage multiple projects and shift quickly between projects and priorities.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Action-oriented, self-starter who can delegate and be hands-on as situations deem appropriate.

Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.

Excellent organizational and innovative problem-solving skills.
