Job Title: Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Plano, TX
Salary Range: $84,849 - $127,274 (based on experience)
Overview:
A well-established 600+ bed acute care hospital in Plano, TX is seeking a Nurse Manager for its Labor & Delivery (L&D) department. This leadership position offers the opportunity to oversee a dynamic team and provide high-quality care in an advanced healthcare setting. As the Nurse Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the L&D unit, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Oversight: Manage the L&D unit, OB ED, and Antepartum departments, with 57 FTEs and 21 beds.
- Team Development: Lead and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional growth and adherence to evidence-based practices.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure delivery of high-quality care while managing departmental budgets and expenses within targets.
- Quality & Safety: Promote and maintain patient safety standards, infection control practices, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Performance Improvement: Participate in and foster staff participation in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Customer-Focused Care: Foster a culture of excellence in patient care and satisfaction, while enhancing staff engagement and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- 2+ years of recent acute care L&D RN leadership experience (progressive leadership experience preferred).
- BSN required; MSN or Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Texas State RN license or compact license.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- Preferred:
- National Specialty Certification or a plan to achieve certification within 1 year of hire.
- Experience in Magnet or Pathways-designated facilities is highly preferred.
