Labor Filler / Packager - Mixing, Packaging, Palletizing & Stretch Wrapping - Cleveland, OH - JOB 24-00703Pay Range: $18.00/HR 90 Calendar Days Contract to Hire $1,000.00 Signing Bonus $500 bonus after 6 months of service (3 Months thru staffing agency & 3 months as a direct employee)$500 bonus after 6 months of service (3 Months thru staffing agency & 9 months as a direct employee)A manufacturer of specialty industrial coatings is seeking to hire three Filler / Packager to follow instructions on how to properly transfer fluid coatings from large drums in to smaller containers. Shift Hours : Monday thru Thursday 6:30 AM 5:00 PM | Potential for overtimeREQUIREMENTS
- High School Graduate or GED is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age. Factory experience preferred. Chemical mixing, packaging a plus
- Read, write, comprehend, communicate, and perform basic math.
- Comply with all safety and regulatory requirements and company polices.
- Must wear steel toe boots when entering the production area of the plant. No exceptions. This includes candidates invited in for an in-person interview / plant tour.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe, neat and orderly work area in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Must be able to calculate the yield and gauge the tank.
- Know the type of container and the fill quantity.
- Must label and stencil the containers properly.
- Filter product per instructions. Follow the capping instructions.
- Palletize the materials as required on batch ticket. Stretch wrapping pallets as required.
- Find and use butt materials.
- Check for special instructions on batch tickets. Reduce waste and spills.
- Must keep in mind safety instructions such as personal protective equipment, ear protection, bonding and grounding and respirators.
- Follow the procedures for clean checks, retain samples and equipment checks.
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all tanks and pieces of equipment for the next batch.
- Responsible to record the following information on the batch ticket and computer: Record number of containers used, number of filter bags, amount of wash solvent used times for starting and finishing a process and reporting butt drums.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee spends the majority of time in a factory setting with regular exposure to loud noise, and frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles. The factory is not air-conditioned. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, hear, walk and occasionally climb stairs. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds. The use of a respirator is required when performing certain job functions. Travel is not required.
