Our Labor Relations Project Manager is an experienced HR professional who will use their business acumen, HR expertise, and union knowledge to coordinate union-related activities, partnering with internal and external Labor Relations counsel and the HR team. This role sits on the HR team and liaisons between HR and the Labor Relations team. This individual will work closely with business leadership and stakeholders to coordinate activities around union petitions, collective bargaining agreement (CBA) processes, and enhance employee relations in union environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders as union petitions arise, providing support throughout the process.
  • Build and maintain reports for union information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.
  • Share critical information related to union activities with relevant parties in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate union CBA processes, including negotiations, implementation, and compliance - in partnership with the Labor Relations team.
  • Coordinate strategies to maintain positive relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • Participate in union-related projects impacting business results.
  • Support assigned employee groups during union-related transitions or stabilization efforts.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on labor relations or union management.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, union regulations, and CBA processes.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, using pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field preferred.

Leadership:

  • Ability to coordinate union-related initiatives across various departments.
  • Skilled facilitator who can participate in meetings and negotiations with union representatives.
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to effectively manage priorities and deadlines.

Problem Solving:

  • Ability to analyze complex union-related issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and create meaningful reports.
  • Adaptability to adjust strategies based on changing union landscapes.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, management, and union representatives.
  • Ability to maintain neutrality and professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to foster trust and cooperation among all parties.

This is a 6-month temporary opportunity with the potential to convert to a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for labor relations and the ability to navigate complex union environments while maintaining positive employee experiences.

Estimated total compensation for this position: 90,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per year.

Location: On-site – Chicago, IL, Mountain View, CA.
