The Labor Relations Senior Specialist will support the administration of our positive, effective system wide labor and employee relations program which promotes labor relations strategies. This position relies on experience and sound judgment to address daily issues in the context of collective bargaining agreements and employment relationship for such unit staff. The Senior Specialist supports the LR team while working independently. They are adept at prioritizing and meeting shifting needs, can establish strong, collaborative relationships with Union counterparts and trust-based relationships with management and non-management staff/faculty across the University. They will advise managers and supervisors on employee relations matters including performance management, discipline, and termination, while also collaborating with the University Leave Administrator, Office of Risk Management, and the Office of Equal Opportunity to administer leaves, reasonable accommodations, Worker's Compensation. They will design and deliver professional training to managers and supervisors, participate in grievance & arbitration process, and conduct confidential workplace investigations. Additionally, they will serve on the University team at contract negotiation and be a subject matter expert on interpretation, administration of collective bargaining agreements, generates comprehensive reports.
