About the Position. The Labor Relations Specialist will oversee the Project Labor Agreements (PLA) for construction projects. Responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the PLA, fostering strong relationships with management, employees and labor unions to ensure efficient project operations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

PLA Management

  • Oversee the implementation and administration of the Project Labor Agreement for all projects.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with the terms and conditions of the PLA.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all PLA-related inquiries and issues.

Training and Development

  • Develop and deliver training programs on labor relations topics for management and staff.
  • Stay updated on current labor relations trends and best practices and incorporate them into company policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic advice and support during collective bargaining processes

Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance and support to project managers and supervisors on labor relations issues.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Assist in the resolution of workplace conflicts and promote a positive work environment.

Labor Relations

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with labor unions and their representatives.
  • Address and resolve any disputes or grievances related to the PLA in a timely and efficient manner.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to labor agreements and policies.

What you need. To be a hero in this role, the Labor Relations Specialist will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and union regulations.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish (Preferred)
