Job Description:

UPMC invites you to apply for the position of Laboratory Admin Assistant Associate! This casual role offers variable shifts from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts from 6 AM to 12:30 PM. **Responsibilities:**

+ Provide general administrative support under direct supervision, assisting a department or team of professionals with daily operations.

+ Perform routine clerical tasks including copying, sorting, filing, and typing, ensuring smooth workflow and organization.

+ Set up and maintain various office files, logs, and records, accurately tracking office activities and ensuring easy access to information.

+ Order office supplies and maintain office equipment, ensuring resources are available and functional for the team.

+ Manage incoming calls and messages, answering routine inquiries and routing them to the appropriate staff members, while greeting and directing visitors.

+ Maintain the supervisor's calendar by scheduling meetings, managing recurring events, booking conference rooms, ordering food, and preparing necessary equipment; may also take meeting minutes.

+ Sort, distribute, and compose routine correspondence, following established procedures, and assist in drafting and analyzing basic reports as needed.

+ Support specimen processing, including receiving and triaging patient materials, checking records for accuracy, and transcribing clinical information into the laboratory information system (LIS) while ensuring compliance with billing procedures.

+ Ability to use basic reasoning skills

+ Knowledge of business processes and procedures

Required:

+ High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

+ EPIC experience

+ Medical terminology

+ Laboratory experience

+ Customer Service experience

+ Up to one-year administrative experience

+ Ability to use applicable MS Suite products

+ Working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software
