About the Role:

As a Laboratory Analyst I in the Environmental - Metals department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our laboratory testing procedures related to inorganic analysis of Drinking Water and Aqueous samples. You will be responsible for the analysis of samples by several methods, including EPA 200.7 and EPA 200.8. In addition, you will be responsible for data entry and review, moderate instrument troubleshooting, maintaining accurate maintenance records. Your work will directly impact the success of our business and the satisfaction of our clients. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high level of attention to detail and technical expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field

* 1+ years of experience in a laboratory setting

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation

* Experience at ISO 17025 accredited laboratory

* Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

* Performing laboratory tests and analyses on various samples using a variety of techniques and equipment

* Interpreting and entering results accurately and efficiently

* Maintaining accurate records of laboratory activities and results

* Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards

* Collaborating with other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes

Essential Functions:

* Following established SOP's and adhering to state, federal and other accrediting body requirements, prepare and process samples, and collect information about the composition of substances to support the analytical testing needs of clients, for such purposes as quantitative analysis, and product development

* Prepare necessary standards, solutions, reagents, media, and samples for sample analyses

* Utilize specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation to process and analyze samples

* Perform equipment and instrumentation set up

* Accurately record observations and data and basic interpretation of data

* Maintain the integrity of procedures and record professional activity for peer review

* Monitor and address sample backlog issues

* Maintain accurate, up to date logs, notebooks and equipment records

* Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized LIMS

* Comply with and promote Safety, and Quality programs
