EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst II (Microbiology) in Pineville, NC. The ideal candidate will have two plus years in environmental microbiology analytical testing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Preparation and analysis of microbiological samples (air, water and bulk materials) for fungus and bacteria using optical and phase contract microscopy Maintaining quality control records as needed and some clerical work may be involved for data entry Perform quality assurance/quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality ControlMaintain and trouble shoot equipment and laboratory clean up Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology/Biology or related area of discipline. Two plus years environmental Microbiology Laboratory experience Comfortable working with microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds and able to adhere to sterile technique and good laboratory practicesExperience with Fungi ID a plus Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisGood computer skills are important for data entry tasksAttention to detail and be willing to learn analytical skillsAble to work independently and within a team environmentWork under strict timelines in order to meet our clients' deadlinesStrong communication skills and comfortable with client interactionCross training in other laboratory disciplines as needed to meet business demandsAvailable Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
