Laboratory Assistant
: Job Details :

Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Will assist the technical staff in processing send out specimens for reference labs, processing body fluids, plating cultures in microbiology, including subbing of positive blood cultures, and preparing specimens for the courier run. Clerical duties will include filing and faxing outpatient paperwork, answering the phone, retrieving specimens from the pneumatic tube system (if applicable), and specimen processing. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School graduate or GED.

Experience: Previous experience as a laboratory assistant is preferred.
