We are currently seeking a Full-Time Laboratory Assistant/PhlebotomistThe selected candidate will be under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, will be responsible to perform Lab Assistant tasks in accessioning room, phlebotomy, and laboratory information systems. Responsible for keeping the laboratory clean and sanitary, sterilizing equipment after every use.Must have a HS diploma or equivalent and completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy or related training program with at least 1 year phlebotomy experience and current CPR certification. NPA-CPT Certified Phlebotomist Tech and /or 1 year of Phlebotomy training and experience in hospital setting preferred. Bilingual capabilities a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of legal requirements for drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant lab equipment and material;
- Knowledgeable and Proficient in venipuncture techniques;
- Strong customer service, organizational and communication skill;
- Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone etiquette;
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and Electronic Health Records and maintain accurate records;
- Ability to perform special techniques including blood cultures, finger sticks and bleeding times;
- Ability to show empathy and maintain patients' privacy, confidentiality and autonomy
