Mission is seeking a detail-oriented QUALITY CONTROL LAB ASSISTANT to perform a wide range of duties to support the QC and R&D laboratories at our manufacturing facility in Boerne, TX. Schedule: Monday - Wednesday: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm; Thursday: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include but not limited to:
* Collect and wash laboratory glassware by dishwasher or as specified (hand wash), dry and restock glassware cabinets for QC Products, Raw Materials and R&D Laboratories.
* Prepares dissolution bath for use by QC Lab Scientists (Includes cleaning and filter change). Prepare tablets for analysts by milling/grinding to a powder following the respective analytical method and/or SOP. Empty sample waste vials (HPLC/GC). Neutralize acid/base waste. Collect and remove equipment solvent waste from QC and R&D labs.
* Perform general housekeeping duties. Trains on and performs various tests, commensurate with abilities, as needed. Perform calibration on specified equipment as assigned.
* Perform/maintain weekly and monthly cleaning and sanitizing purified water use points log(s). Perform/maintain weekly Labconco glassware washer operation worksheet(s), tablet milling logs and carboy log sheets. Check and replace broken glassware collection boxes, as needed.
* Perform Sieve analysis. Perform hardness testing, friability, and other physical testing on tablets. File records as requested.
* Select and package files for movement, transfer and/or permanent storage. Assists QC Laboratory Clerk with receiving of consumables, as needed. Assist QC Laboratory Clerk with sample shipment, as needed.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months of related experience and/or training. Must be able to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with others. This position also requires general math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs. Must also possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and MasterControl's training module.
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
