Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Chemistry Lab Technician to execute and analyze tests in special chemistry department to aid physicians with lab results. Additionally, this individual will perform timely, high-quality completion of both routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens (including blood and other body fluids, skin scrapings and surgical specimens).
Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities include:
* Performing analytical chemistry assays based on new and existing methodologies to, operating analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, GC/MS, Titrator, and validating analytical testing methodology used to control pathological sample, writing technical reports to document analytical methods and transferring documented analytical methods to the QC department.
* Proficiency using interface such as HPLC and SRS for specimen management.
* Ensure test-result validity before recording/reporting results, earning a reputation for attention to details.
* Evaluate quality control within laboratory using standard laboratory test and measurement controls, and maintained compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPPA, safety and risk-management guidelines
* Prepare test solutions, compounds and reagents for laboratory classes for testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field is required, preferably in chemistry/biochemistry
* Prior lab experience is a plus but not required
Work Environment
You will be working in a fast-paced environment, responsible for receiving and processing 300,000 samples a week. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
