What you'll do
The Network InformationSystems Technical Specialist, under the supervision of the Core Lab Supervisor, is responsible for the implementation, development, and overall support and troubleshooting of the Core Lab integration with the Laboratory Information System and interfaced clinical systems. The Network Information Systems Technical Specialist will be responsible for the coordination and
engagement of end users into test plans, documenting changes/updates to the test plan and coordinating necessary changes to the Laboratory Information System for the Core Lab (Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology and Specimen Processing) and Point of Care testing sections across the network. Acts as a liaison between the end-user community, the laboratory, and the Epic build teams. Duties include quality improvement, program development, and project management. In conjunction with technical specialists develops and administers network lab procedures, policies and technical bulletins related to information systems that ensure consistency and compliance with all contracts, regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies and organizational requirements
* Coordinates and assists with the development, monitoring, maintenance, and correction of the Core Lab and Microbiology applications of the Beaker Information Systems and interfaced systems in collaboration with the EPIC Beaker Team, being sensitive to organizational needs and ensuring efficient accomplishment of objectives as outlined in each project.
* Working with the Beaker build team, participates in the design and testing of LIS and system upgrades, based on work-flow analysis and sound principles of system design and maintenance.
* Assists with the development of policies and procedures for the use of Core
Lab/Microbiology/Receiving/Processing/POC functions of the Laboratory Information System, ensuring compliance with Bassett Healthcare policies, accreditation requirements, and federal and state laws.
* In collaboration with Technical Specialists/supervisors complete LIS validation testing for new tests or instruments prior to implementation.
* Develops downtime procedures ensuring safe backup systems when the clinical information systems are not functioning appropriately.
* Resolve issues as they arise to ensure system development and performance, support patient data, patient care, security, and confidentiality.
* Coordinates creation and validation of Epic report requests.
* Coordinates requests for test modification, or software changes.
* Assists with testing of instrument and third party interfaces in collaboration with Beaker team and lab leadership.
* Performs appropriate testing of changes prior to moving changes to the live environment, and re-testing the live environment to ensure 100% accuracy, in accordance with Change Management Policies.
* Works on projects with minimal supervision and manages multiple projects (effective time management).
* Provides support during implementation, upgrades and in downtimes as assigned, including on-call as needed.
* Maintains technical competency
* Participates in the daily technical work as assigned by supervisor at the frequency necessary to understand work-flows.
* Maintains technical competence within the assigned area(s) of responsibility by completing annual competency requirements as defined by departmental policy and documented within the department.
* Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed
* Performs other duties as requested within scope of license and competencies
What we need from you
Education:
* 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, required
* Qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations, required
Experience:
* Experience with LIS systems, required
* Epic Beaker Experience
Licensure/Certifications:
* Licensure by NYS SED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, or licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical
Laboratory Technologist, required
* Limited Permit is granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within one year from the issuance of a limited
permit

Pay Range
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:
USD $37.49/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:
USD $56.24/Hr.
