Job Type Full-timeDescriptionTRI ENV - Maintenance and Repair TechnicianWe are seeking a skilled candidate to serve as the lead Repair and Maintenance Technician at a full-service materials testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic testing equipment, with some fabrication and assembly of components and systems. This role involves working with a variety of materials, occasional operation of fabrication equipment such as mills and lathes, performing light welding, working with plumbing and fixturing, and troubleshooting instrumentation and electronics. The Technician will be chiefly responsible for maintenance and upkeep of a wide variety of machines and equipment to support testing.Responsibilities
- Assembly/Fabrication: Perform light machining and fabrication of wood, metal, and plastic components.
- Mill and Lathe Operation: Ability to operate milling machines and lathes to fabricate parts.
- Light Welding: Conduct light welding tasks as needed.
- Instrumentation and Electronics: Wire and troubleshoot instrumentation and electronic components.
- Pressure Fitting: Assemble air, water, and hydraulic pressure fittings.
- Equipment Maintenance: Fabricate, repair, and maintain test equipment for outside sales, on-premise use, and inter-laboratory support.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding, operating mills and lathes, and performing the described daily duties.
- Experience: Prior experience in assembly, fabrication, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electronics.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in fabrication and assembly tasks, and maintain an organized workspace.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment and components.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to handle physical tasks such as drilling, tapping, and welding. Ability to lift 50 lb.
