Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility offering specialized, tertiary services. SVBGH is the region's only Level III Trauma Center and home to Sentara Heart Center, which is the portal to a sophisticated array of quality cardiac services with outcomes that surpass national standards. SVBGH is also one of only ten Advanced Primary Stroke Centers in Virginia certified by the Joint Commission. Other clinical services at this facility includePalliative Care Program, the Coastal Cancer Center, Diabetes Center, Orthopedics, Accredited Sleep Disorders Center, and an Inpatient Rehab Unit.

Job Summary
Assumes responsibility and accountability for laboratory operations within a Sentara facility. Responsible for the delivery of high quality services that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Analyzes patient data and suggests physician protocol for confirming patient diagnosis; acts as a consultant to pathologists, physicians and other team members; identifies needs and implements training to ensure competency of laboratory staff. Coordinates the development and implementation of new lab services within the Sentara facility. Contributes to the success of the organization through achievement of system, hospital and departmental goals and objectives. Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences acceptable. Three (3) years' of Histocompatibility experience and CHT or CHS certification only required within the Transplant Immunology Lab. Education, experience and certification must be acquired within the specific discipline of the department in which one is applying.Qualifications:
