In this role, the candidate will oversee daily laboratory operations, manage the mouse colony, assist with in vivo experiments, and coordinate with surgical teams for the procurement of human tissues and the development of patient-specific cell lines. Additionally, the candidate will independently conduct experiments as part of a dedicated research project. Responsibilities also include assisting with the preparation of regulatory documents (e.g., animal care and biosafety protocols) and contributing to grant applications and manuscripts. The role further involves monitoring budgets, organizing and receiving lab orders and biological samples, maintaining lab reagent inventories, and training junior lab members on protocols and procedures.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, capable of multitasking efficiently, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, alongside a solid understanding of advanced scientific principles. Advanced skills in mouse survival procedures-including intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and tail vein injections, as well as dissection and tissue collection-are highly desirable, though training can be provided. Expertise in histology, cellular, and molecular biology would be a significant asset. Experience with sterile techniques and cell culture is also highly valued.

Essential FunctionsBasic scientific laboratory work at the bench space. Repetitive pipetting; handling mice requires good eye to hand coordination, excellent visual acuity, and manual dexterity. Must be able to reach/stack consumables on shelves and occasionally move equipment.

Physical EffortThis position will require standing for long periods of time and/or walking for extending periods (if resources need to be accessed at other University labs). Although infrequent, the position will occasionally require moving heavy equipment.
