Job Description:

The Laboratory Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and operating multiple reproductive tissue recovery and cryopreservation sites under the direction of California Cryobank Laboratory and Donor Operations Directors. This Manager must ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standard operating procedures. This position will support California Cryobank's laboratory operations across all CA + Pacific Northwest laboratories. This role has all the same responsibilities as a California Cryobank Lab Manager, Reproductive Services Manager, and/or Branch Manager. In addition to the lab operation responsibilities, this position will work to ensure donors are qualified per the regulations and SOPs. This position will execute all required actions to review donor eligibility prior to Medical Director sign off. This position also requires mandatory travel as outlined below.

Laboratory Operations is approximately 70% of this position's responsibilities. They include but are not limited to:

* Internal Ops lab site review to be conducted on-site in locations named below:

* Monthly travel to S. CA sites (Los Angeles, Northridge, Orange Cty (Fountain Valley), Upland

* Quarterly travel to N. CA site (Los Altos) + Pacific Northwest sites (Portland, Spokane).

* This position will be responsible for ensuring each location assigned operates within compliance with all SOPs, Company Policies, and current regulations. Site Review for compliance will include but not be limited to:

* Training binders

* Equipment binders

* Inventory binders

* QC binders

* Media, temp logs, lab opening QC

* Cryo binders

* Equipment PM, validation- cryo and lab

* Inventory (physical check) labeled and segregated properly

* Lab

* Phlebotomy

* Safety

* Building, Cryo, Lab

* 1:1's with staff as needed

* This position will serve as a Lab Manager for West Coast + Pacific Northwest as needed. Specific duties include review of:

* Donor worksheets

* Blood work- Infectious disease screening review and approval as well as Health Screening review and approval

* Tracking logs

* Risk Assessments

* Vial Status Change initiation and execution as needed

* Morphology resulting

* Authorization To Release vials from quarantine initiation and execution

* Potential Donor worksheet review and approval for acceptance into program

* Donor Specimen Quality review as needed

* Support laboratory related projects which could include new initiatives, changes in testing protocols, and training for sites within regions noted above

* This position will be responsible for the initiation and tracking of non-conformance and deviation events. Responsible for resolving with the proper parties; QA, Regulatory, inspecting bodies, internal and external audits

* This position is responsible for working directly with local leadership to improve and expand operational activities in each location.

* Review and approval of infectious disease results

* Review and approval of donor inventory

* Review and approval of donor specimen quality and fitness for the donor program

* Author, review, and approval of SOPs and policies related to donor processing and screening at California Cryobank

Donor Program Operations 30% of work:

* Providing HQ level support for donor chart qualification reviews + vial releases

* On-site at La Grange office

* Provide support for donor program-lab cross-over projects, as needed

* Permanent office will be provided at La Grange site for usage

* Responsible for tracking and qualifying donors per company goals

* Monthly travel to S. CA sites (Los Angeles, Northridge, Orange City (Fountain Valley), Upland

Travel: Required:

* Quarterly travel to N. CA site (Los Altos) + Pacific Northwest sites (Portland, Spokane).

* Ability to speak and write English; communicate effectively and professionally with donors.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratio and percent.

* Ability to analyze data; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form; and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

* Knowledge of MS Outlook, Zoom, Excel. Ability to learn other technology platforms, such as SMS platforms, that serve as large function within the role.

* Excellent customer service skills; high level of interpersonal skills to interact with peers and management; strong attention to detail; excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Work Environment:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Experience:

* Minimum requirement 7 years of operational experience in reproductive healthcare required.

* Minimum requirement 5 years management and-or supervisory experience. Prior Embryology experience desired.

Education

* Bachelor's degree required. Masters desired not required.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $100,000 - $133,000. The actual base pay includes many factors, and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
