This individual will be available to field document support requests from other laboratory departments, assist the Document Support Specialist in the creation of new policies and procedures, assist the QA team with various tasks such as scheduling meetings.This individual will be expected to work well collaboratively and as part of a team, as well as independently when needed. This position is remote, however the individual must have the ability to work onsite at 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850 as required.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize document support requests from laboratory staff
- Assist in formatting existing documents in the appropriate templates under the direction of the Document Support Specialist
- Proofread laboratory documents prior to approval submission under the direction of the Document Support Specialist
- Assist with the development of additional forms and templates for laboratory use under the direction of the Document Support Specialist
- Meet weekly with the Document Support Specialist and the QA team, or more frequently if needed
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure document needs are being met
- Create and review all Plan of Corrections Trackers for completion status
- Review manufacturer guides and package inserts for limitations, storage requirements, and other restrictions
- Attend meetings with laboratory staff as-needed in place of the QA Team or Document Support Specialist to take notes and report back, such as AM lab huddle and DISH
- Monitor the status of signatures and approval for policies and procedures by reaching out to the necessary parties, when needed
- Create flowcharts as needed to aid in the visual representation of laboratory processes
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education- High School Diploma or GED Required. AAS or BS Degree in English or relevant focus preferred.
- Experience - 2 Years of Proofreading experience. Ability to use Microsoft products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Visio, Excel, etc). One year of writing experience and knowledge of style guide use is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred
- Good written and oral communication skills preferred.
- Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Able to perform light lifting, up to 10 pounds.

- Hybrid (Primarily remote. Must be able to work onsite at 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850 as required)

Pay Range Disclosure:
- Standard Rate of $18.54 to $24.00 per hour plus benefits
