Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The UofSC and Dr. Yangmei Li is seeking a research technician to perform research in the lab. The successful candidate is expected to perform research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Duties include to conduct lab chemical synthesis of peptides and peptide derived molecules.
To test the compounds and collect their biological activities data, and report experimental data
To document data from lab experiments
To assist with lab duties including maintenance of instruments and apparatus, lab safety and lab cleaning
To ensure all tasks are completed in a timely fashion with accuracy and detail.
Health insurance is provided with this position.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Science is required. Experience in a research laboratory is preferred.
Knowledge of laboratory facilities, methods, equipment and materials. Knowledge of safe use and handling of chemicals in laboratory. Ability to understand and follow detailed technical instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
