Job Summary:
The Research & Development Supervisor is responsible for managing the overall testing and research activities within the organization. This role involves leading a team of Scientists and Lab Technicians with different experience levels to complete testing. Key responsibilities include supervising and providing technical guidance to a group of Scientists, Lab Techs, etc., whose main responsibilities are the generation, analysis, and communication of data
Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership and direction a group of Scientist, Lab Techs, etc.
- Setting goals and objectives for the team and monitoring progress
- Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Encouraging innovation and creativity within the team
- Identifying and addressing any performance issues and providing constructive feedback
- Performs ongoing supervision of compliance with costs, time, safety and quality standards and regulations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Provides first level leadership capability including responsibility for attraction, retention, engagement, performance, development of employees
- Responsible for a full range of well-defined and documented methods and processes
- Provides day to day direction of fundamental tasks
- Creates onsite visibility of KPI's and metrics and can provide input into metrics to manager
- Investigates a limited number of variables to achieve clear and specific project results within a moderate focus area
- Facilitating communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders
- Performs work that involves conventional types of plans, methods, processes, and procedures with relatively few complex features for which there are not precedents
- Leads standard research and development projects of moderate complexity and scope
- Routinely communicates cross-functionally on non-routine issues
- Credibly represents company with outside agencies
- Responsible for customer management and retention in area/scope
- Leads continuous improvement activities

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 4 years experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in research tools and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement research strategies and plans.
- Experience in conducting experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary range:
$81,000.00 - $146,000.00
