Description
Due to a pending retirement, we are looking for our Lab Supervisor at the Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Are you ready to lead a dedicated team and make an impact in environmental sustainability? As a Laboratory Supervisor, you'll oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and innovation in testing procedures that directly support wastewater treatment and environmental protection.
What You'll Do:
* Supervise laboratory staff, set clear objectives, and manage performance evaluations.
* Oversee laboratory analyses, ensuring accurate and representative results.
* Maintain lab software, generate actionable reports, and uphold Quality Assurance/Quality Control standards.
* Interpret test results and provide recommendations for plant operations and industrial discharges.
* Develop budgets, procure equipment, and conduct safety training.
* Serve as the lab's technical authority in legal and regulatory matters.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or a related field;
AND
* Four years of experience in chemistry of which at least one year has been in water or wastewater chemistry.
* One year of supervisory or lead experience preferred
Licensing/Certification
* Must possess a Missouri Class D Wastewater Operator's Certificate or the equivalent in another state, or obtain within probationary period;
* Missouri Wastewater or Drinking Water Operator's Certification or the equivalent in another state preferred
* Must possess a valid Driver's license.
