Laboratory Technician (Entry) - Biological R&D - R&D - P (Contract)Contract (11 months 30 days)Published 4 days agoRole: R&D Laboratory TechnicianPay Rate: $22/hr. on W2.Department/Team Description: Radiology Device R&D, Systems Engineering: The Systems Engineering team focuses on the creation of requirements, risk management, reliability, and verification/validation.Position Summary: The Laboratory Technician supports and performs all routine testing needed in the R&D Microbiology and Particulate laboratory. The Laboratory Technician prepares samples and supplies for testing, supports disinfection, cleaning, microbial ingress, sub-visible particulate testing, and manages the preventive maintenance, calibration, and validation initiatives for all laboratory equipment. The incumbent works under general direction and uses judgment to make the correct decisions.Position Duties and Responsibilities:Work is performed under general direction from the Laboratory Manager and/or Scientists & EngineersMicrobiological TestingSub-visible Particulate TestingSupports disinfection and cleaning validation studies with BSL2 microorganismsSupports microbial ingress testing with BSL2 microorganismsPerforms microbiological and particulate sample processing via vacuum filtrationDaily duties include:Equipment MonitoringWater Purification System MaintenanceMaterial / Glassware PreparationScanning and archiving of laboratory recordsOther duties as assignedRequirements/Preferences:Education Preferred - Bachelor's DegreeSkills & Competency Requirements:Associate's Degree in science or engineering discipline or 2-year trade/military school and 5 years of microbiology/chemistry laboratory experienceDemonstrates the ability to work under minimal directionDemonstrates ability to comply with established procedures.Working knowledge and proven skills of PC computer system including Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Clear high performance orientation; committed to completion of agreed upon objectives and takes pride in work;Preferences:Bachelor's in science or engineering discipline and 1-2 years of microbiology/chemistry laboratory experienceExperience/knowledge of microbiological and particulate test method development and validationExperience/knowledge of purified water systems (design and operation)Experience/knowledge of wet-lab skills (pipetting, sample handling, liquid waste collection and disposal, etc.)#J-18808-Ljbffr
