Position: Lab Technician
Department: Quality
Primary Purpose: Make appropriate decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods. Ensure that Kerry products are up to standards and are of high quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct required tests, analysis, and/or verification steps to assure that raw materials, batched product, and finished product exceeds established quality standards.
- Verify conformity through measurement and assessment.
- Make quick decisions and use sound judgement to make rational decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods.
- Ability to handle being exposed to smell and a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials.
- Be able to participate in safety initiatives, committees and teams.
- Never take shortcuts or use the improper tools/equipment that could compromise the safety of themselves or others.
- Food safety and quality is Kerry's priority so it's important to adhere to all Food Safety/Quality SOP's while also accurately completing required Food Safety & Quality records.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a hazard free work area.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, college degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in food/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required
- Experience with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FCC/USP/ASTA test methods, aseptic technique and food or pharmaceutical production preferred
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred
- Organizational skills & excellent communication skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency and work safely
- Ability to strive for excellence in all areas; focus on effective internal and external customer-supplier relationships.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability kneel, bend, squat, stoop, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work.
- Ability to work in hot, cold or wet environments.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on average of 150 times an hour.
- Ability to work overtime and use a flexible schedule.
