Job Description:

Our client, one of the leading consumer package industry is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team. As a Lab Tech, you will be part of the team supporting research team. The ideal candidate will have sciences - biology, chemistry, food science, physics, engineering - courses w labs! Lab safety, lab policies and procedure are all super helpful in this role which will align successfully in the organization.

Title: Lab TechnicianLocation: Franklin, WI. ONSITE.Hours: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm rotating schedule. 2 days on; 2 days off; 3 days on weekends and then starts again next week – every other weekend; cycle repeats every 14 days. Candidates will work 48 hours one week and 36 hours the following week. 8 of the 48 hours will be paid at a rate of time and a half since they will exceed 40 hours in the week.Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension/conversionPosition Notes:

  • They love to see entry level candidates with degrees in sciences - biology, chemistry, food science, physics, engineering - courses w labs! Lab safety, lab policies and procedure are all super helpful in this role
  • Day to Day Basis - they will be running tests on moisture, salt and oil for tortillas and pretzels
  • They will be expected to lift ingredients up to 50 lbs - nothing over
  • They will be standing in the role a majority of the time
  • No windows to the outside - just something to note!
  • Personality wise: working with a small team - need to have strong comm skills, to employees and production personnel
  • Analytical thinking also a must - they will be using basic MS Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, etc

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading research, conducting trials/experiments, gathering data and reporting findings on assignments/projects that are moderately complex
  • Performs a variety of duties requiring the application of technical knowledge using established processes/protocols
  • Independently plans, prioritizes, and executes work making basic technical decisions independently
  • Often responsible for training and/or coaching other permanent or temp employees.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Chemistry/Environmental Science most preferred; can be currently in school pending graduation
