Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Applications Contract Associate (Lab Technician - Paintings and Coatings) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for chemistry and algebra, enjoy working with automated equipment, and be committed to following safety and quality protocols. This position requires flexibility, the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, and a strong attention to detail.

Job Description

  • Prepare automotive coatings test panels/parts using automated application equipment to ensure high-quality results.
  • Perform equipment metrology and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all tools and machinery.
  • Accurately execute coatings tests and provide detailed reports and observations.
  • Prioritize work based on project needs and ensure accurate record-keeping of all tasks performed.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely, maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, ensuring cleanliness and organization of the workspace and equipment.
  • Follow corporate and site safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Work within a Painting Process Laboratory, interacting with team members to optimize processes.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of painting processes and techniques, conducting experimental spray trials as assigned to improve application methods.

Skills Required

  • 1+ year of work experience in a similar or related role.
  • Ability to understand, record, and communicate detailed information accurately.
  • Strong observational and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as part of the role.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Punctuality and reliability in personal attendance.

Education/Certification/Training

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Some college-level chemistry and math courses are preferred
  • Chemistry and algebra aptitude preferred.
  • Associate degree or Trade School Certification preferred

Additional Information:

  • Primarily work weekdays on the afternoon work shift, 2:00pm 10:30 pm after shadowing application lab technician up to 2 months on the day shift.
  • Have flexibility to changing priorities, assignments and work schedule.
  • Be punctual / timely in personal attendance.
