We are seeking individuals qualified to work as a Laboratory Technician to support the mission of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Rockville, MDThis is a long-term contract position which offers:

Duties Include:
  • Perform a variety of laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Perform experiment with the use of congenic, transgenic, and knockout mice; analyses of lymphoma cell lines; DNA and tissue microarrays; and molecular and cell biology.
  • Perform experiment using laboratory instruments used to perform tests, analyses, and other laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of experiments and results.
  • Write reports of findings, state methods and procedures, include any modifications employed specimens and materials involved, and results of experiments.
  • Provide quality control of the laboratory including upkeep and routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Order and stock standard laboratory glassware and associated supplies.
  • Clean and sterilize glassware, plastic-ware and hand instruments as appropriate.
  • Pick up dirty glassware from Media Laboratory.
  • Maintain detailed daily reports on items washed; transfer handwritten logs to excel spreadsheet.
  • Perform quality control for each item washed to check for residue, cracks or other imperfections. Discard any items that are no longer able to meet laboratory standardsRequirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of laboratory experience in a related field is required.
  • Experience with using of applications such as MS Office and Teams and Adobe.
