Job Summary
ASI-Contracting is looking for general laborers to join our crew. We are looking for safety-oriented people to become valuable assets to our team. As a laborer your primary purpose will be to perform a variety of tasks at all kinds of construction sites. Tasks that require skillthat can be learned quickly. This position will be working outside in all kinds of weather conditions and does require traveling and staying out for a week or more at a time.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Move machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks
* Assemble and install equipment
* Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills and other tools as directed by supervisor
* Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools and power tools
* Assemble equipment with nuts, bolts, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand and power tools
* Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook
* Direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment
* Listen and follow instruction from supervisor
* Provide labor support as needed for specialty crew
* Work at heights without fear
* Make decisions based on measurable information
* Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site
* Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
* Follow all safety procedures on the job site
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Able to read tape measure
* Knowledge in hardware preferable (ex. nuts, bolts, screws, ect.)
* Reliable transportation
* Self-motivated
Physical Demands
* Climb and maintain body balance at heights of 50ft. or more on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures
* Lift 50lbs regularly
* Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
* Full range of body movements
Working Conditions
* Workdays maybe from 50-70 hours per week, or as needed to meet customer demand
* Could include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
* Traveling for extended periods of time
* Most of the time will be spent outside in all types of weather including hot and cold
