The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois (13,463 - 2020 census) is a diverse home-rule municipality directly north of the City of Chicago consisting of 2.7 square miles, with a unique blend of residential, commercial, and manufacturing areas. The Village is seeking an individual to serve as a Public Works Laborer. Work involves performance of a variety of tasks which includes maintenance the Village's trees, alleys, and landscapes. Specific work assignments are provided on a daily basis and may be rotated. Work includes the operation of motorized equipment and requires heavy physical labor. The position is subject to being available for on-call duty for emergencies, as determined by the Director of Public Works, which requires availability at any hour or day. The candidate's education shall include a high school diploma and a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of the candidate's hire date. Experience in Public Works operations required. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and abilities: attention to detail and accuracy, interpersonal skills, personal integrity, respect, and a passion for public service. The hourly range for this position is $23.31 to $33.00. This position is classified as a full-time, non-exempt, union position.
