Job Summary: Responsible for electronic truck scale operation via computer control, report production, monitoring vehicles and personnel entering and exiting the facility, and directing customers to appropriate destinations. As a laborer, performs a variety of tasks under the supervision of management to assist with extra workload, cover absences or vacations and maintain the facilities. Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter transactions in the Weighmaster computer software system and navigate the Internet as required.
- Maintain and account for daily transactions.
- Accurately segregate and compile waste disposal documents.
- Identify authorized vehicles, control traffic, and account for personnel entering and exiting the facility.
- Prepare scale house for daily operations - start computers, test radiation monitoring systems, to begin daily transactions.
- Monitor supplies and notify appropriate person for restocking.
- Answer telephone calls in courteous manner, record and forward messages as appropriate.
- Monitor entrance to the facility to identify unfamiliar visitors; notify appropriate personnel of visitors.
- Sort interoffice mail and route to outbound and inbound destinations as instructed.
- Log entering vehicles, into computer software system and confirm customer information, waste type, and generator code.
- Document and report any overweight vehicles to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable waste streams to prevent unauthorized waste types from being delivered to the facility.
- Direct acceptable loads to appropriate tipping area.
- Upon vehicle exit, calculate waste weight, process manifest form, applicable paperwork and weight ticket.
- At the end of day, power down electronic equipment and secure the scale house.
- Maintain cleanliness of Scalehouse area, both inside and out as necessary (shovel snow from walkways, scales, sweep walkways, clean counters and windows.)
- Cares for the property by maintaining the grass, removing weeds, and shoveling/removing snow.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Support a culture of safety by performing all responsibilities in accordance with safety policies and procedures and take a proactive approach to ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Perform all work in compliance with environmental policies and regulations.
- Be available to assist in other capacities: as qualified and assigned, to maintain the facility operation as directed by Facility Manager.
Education, Training or Certification:
- High School Diploma or acceptable equivalent
- Knowledge of DCSWA Rules and Regulations and waste disposal procedures required by DCSWA
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Weighmaster's License
- Valid PA Driver's License
Technical Competencies:
- Fluently speak, read, and write English.
- Basic math, reading, and writing comprehension.
- Basic computer skills and understanding of standard office machines (faxes, copiers, etc.).
- Hear and communicate accurately and courteously via telephone, and in person.
- Work alone, self-directed, and with good business judgment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Employees in this position normally work in both an indoor climate-controlled environment and outdoors in all weather conditions including inclement outdoor environments to shovel snow and maintain cleanliness of the scale house area.
- Frequently reach and bend across waist high counter and through window to exchange paperwork and packages with customer entering and exiting the facility.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Work Hours: Day shift, 40+ hours per week, but those hours may vary depending on workload, and special projects. Behavioral Competencies:
