DescriptionGeneral SummaryThe laborer performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLoads and unloads trucks, and other conveyancesMoves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truckStacks materials for storage or binningCollects refuse and salvageable materialsDigs, fills, and tamps earth excavationsLevels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake, shovels concreteCleans culverts and ditchesMoves and arranges heavy pieces of furniture, equipment, and appliancesAssists/helps other CraftsmenKnowledge, Experience and Skill RequirementsGED or High School GraduateExperience working in an outdoor or indoor building environmentAble to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmenWork EnvironmentMust be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensionsOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.
