DescriptionPrincipal Function: The Street Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of physical labor tasks including, but not limited to, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Town roadways and related infrastructure.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures Town roadways and related infrastructure comply with regulations.
- Maintains and repairs Town streets, alleys, and right-of-ways including, but not limited to, removing snow, salting roadways, lawn mowing, sweeping patches, and resurfacing roadways.
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces street signs, sidewalks, catch basins, manholes, storm and sanitary lines, and curbs.
- Installs flags and banners.
- Trims trees and related landscaping, including removal of street debris.
- Sets street barricades, cones, and needed signs for events and hazards.
- Operates DOT-regulated trucks, heavy equipment, and street sweepers.
- Assist with the chipper truck, including disposal of holiday trees, sticks, and leaves.
- Assist with Mosquito Treatment Program.
- Assist with directing traffic for street work as required.
- Assist with general maintenance of Street Department facilities.
- Assist with resident inquiries and initiates action as needed.
