Job SummaryABOUT THE JOBWe're looking for a responsible and skilled Laborer to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of physically demanding tasks under supervision. This role requires dedication to completing tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
Job ResponsibilitiesWHAT YOU WILL GET TO DOAs a Laborer at Cemex, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Cemex and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations, always wearing proper safety equipment.
- Safety Standards: Strive to meet or exceed company safety standards.
- Excavation and Digging: Execute digging, excavating, trenching, and backfilling operations with precision.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- Concrete Work: Construct and dismantle forms for concrete and assist with concrete and castable mixing and pouring.
- Minor Repairs: Engage in minor maintenance and repair activities, providing support where needed.
- Additional Duties: Execute additional responsibilities as directed by management.
- Physical Tasks: Perform various physical tasks including bending, squatting, stooping, sweeping, and shoveling.
QualificationsWHO WE ARE LOOKING FORTo succeed in this role, you should bring:
- Educational and Licensing Requirements: High School Diploma.
- Experience: Experience with MSHA or OSHA, operating hoses, unloading material, utilizing the rail car, and other duties related to the business.
- Skills: Ability to read, write & communicate effectively. Bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to adjust to different tasks and work environments. Consistent performance and attendance. Prioritizing safety in all operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking ConditionsWORKING CONDITIONS - Safety First: Wearing protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols is a must.
- Dynamic Environment: You'll work in diverse environments, including exposure to varying conditions such as outdoor industrial operations settings.
- Physical Requirements: Expect frequent walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, and climbing as part of your daily routine.
