We provide a safe and challenging work environment that is mostly done in an indoor and heated shop and take great pride in knowing that we build a product that helps serve and protect others.Job SummaryThe laborer is an entry level manufacturing position that is responsible for supporting the building process of aluminum boats for a variety of customers. This is position is designed to provide the candidate the ability to learn the trades involved with Boatbuilding and will provide a pathway to pursuing a career in the Boat building trades.Responsibilities
- Performs various physical duties as assigned
- Maintains all safety standards
- Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials such as trash, steel, dirt, etc.
- Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the-job training
- Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
- Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor
- Moving tools, equipment, or other material as directed in plans or by supervisor
- Supports other positions such as welders and technicians in the boat building process
Required Skills & Abilities
- Follows directions and procedures under supervision
- Conducts basic problem-solving skills under supervision
- Effectively communicate to supervisor and manager
- Adheres to all procedures and safe work practices
- Effectively uses hand and power tools
- Knowledge in reading tape measures
- Ability to manage one's own time by being punctual and completing duties in a given time frame
- Ability to learn about and adapt to the boat building industry
Qualifications
- Applicants with prior experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Physical requirementsPosition requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to work in tight spaces and awkward positions for long periods of time. Must be able to conduct inside and outside work in all temperatures. Use of manufacturing equipment. Work in areas at times that are not environmentally controlled. Able to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs.
