This is a Direct Hire solicitation - This position is being advertised via Direct Hire for Temp/Term Appt Authority to meet Critical Hiring Needs (Eff 3 Nov 2017) Responsibilities You will serve as a general labor worker performing a variety of project maintenance tasks which include: picnic table repair, installation of signs, painting, road repair, and repair of charcoal grills. Remove dead trees and brush from recreation areas. Use shovels to dig holes in the ground. Clean outdoor surfaces, such as tables and benches. Use a water hose and soap to wash vehicles. Use brooms, mops, and waxing applicants to clean floors. Follow verbal instructions to complete a job or task, such as gather supplies or tools as instructed or dispose of trash or debris as instructed. Follow written instructions for the proper use of hand tools and follow equipment and tool manuals or safety labels in order to understand safe use requirements. Use simple hand tools to complete jobs or tasks and use hand tools safety procedure to avoid injury. Perform heavy lifting in a safe manner to avoid a strained back to other injury. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Laborer without more than normal supervision. Qualified applicants must show in their resume the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of a laborer to include tasks such as: washing vehicles, utilizing simple hand tools, and mowing grass using a power or riding mower. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. The skills, knowledge, abilities, and personal characteristics listed below are important to succeed in the job: Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order). Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (other than blueprints). Ability to Use and Maintain tools and Equipment. Dexterity and Safety. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Moderately heavy physical effort is required in lifting and carrying objects weighing up to about 50 pounds and in pushing heavy furniture, loaded carts, etc. WORKING CONDITIONS: Some work is performed outside in all kinds of weather. Work is by nature dirty, dusty, and may requiring working around or with noisy equipment. Work around tools and equipment requires care and attention to safety practices prescribed, in order to avoid injury to self or others and/or damage to equipment.
