AAdecco is currently assisting a local client recruiting for a Laborer - Material Set-Up position in Liverpool, NY. This Laborer - Material Set-Up is a temporary to temp to hire opportunity, with starting pay rates of $16/hr-$18/hr DOE! For instant consideration for this Laborer - Material Set-Up role, Apply Now! Job Summary: The Material Set-Up Laborer assembles, arranges, and maintains production materials, ensuring the material is set up properly and conforms with company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Duties/Responsibilities: • Sets up production materials according to instructions, specifications, and standards. • Studies blueprints, work instructions, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed. • Receives, distributes, stores, and secures products as directed in designated, secure locations. • Transports, loads, and unloads materials, manually and/or using hand trucks, forklift, and skids. • Places and secures materials in proper staging areas. • Verifies that measuring instruments, such as tape measures, are in proper working order and within calibration. • Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions, tolerances, webs, and yields. • Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment. • Has focused attention to detail and ability to understand and spot material imperfections and adjust/figure out resolutions. • Creates material tags with label software, as needed. • Meets or exceeds production run rate/quota expectations per each job to maintain job scheduling and due date deliveries. • Conforms to the company's culture of quality, service, and continuous improvement, while taking personal responsibility for own actions and treating fellow employees, customers, and vendors respectfully and ethically. • Committed to the Clients quality policy, strives to do their best in following Clients quality standards and at all times provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. • Follows all company and OSHA Safety regulations; works in a safe manner and uses personal protective equipment as instructed; reinforces housekeeping and Clients core values. • Efficient with time and task completion, working smarter and not harder. • Maintains list of pending and completed responsibilities and checklists as needed. • Seeks out work and assignments when caught up on workload by asking Management. • Maintains a clean, neat, clutter-free, and organized work area. • Performs other duties as assigned. Laborer - • Flexibility/Adaptability - Actively seeks to learn new things on own their initiative. • Responds positively to change and adapts to new situations quickly. Able to take on a diverse range of tasks equally effectively. Ability to be flexible and adapt without overly stressing. Seeks out work and assignments when caught up on workload by asking Management. Required Skills/Abilities: • Material set-up experience a plus. • Strong verbal communication and written communication. • Ability to follow proper safety protocols. • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production materials and processes. • Ability to read and write effectively. • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions. • Ability to follow written work instructions and diagrams. • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received. • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication. • Understands math decimals and fractions and is able to calculate them. • Understands standard and metric measurements and is able to convert from one to the other. • Understanding in blue print reading/ geometric tolerance interpretation. • Knowledge of the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales. • Proven ability to successfully multi-task. • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred. • One year of manufacturing experience preferred. • Must have a current valid NY driver's license and submit a copy to Human Resources prior to driving for business purposes and/or a company vehicle.
