Crisdel Group, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Construction Laborer to join our expanding Pipe Crew. Pipe laborers are responsible for performing various tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. These tasks may include, but are not limited to: shoveling, raking, hand sweeping, setting bracing, forming, rigging, tying, cutting, patching and cleaning. Heavy construction laborers may use and/or operate the following tools of the trade, including but not limited to: small hand or power tools, air tools, jack hammers, cement mixers, hand tampers, plate tampers and saws.GENERAL EXPECTATIONSAll employees shall commit to Crisdel's team effort driven process by contributing to the safe and successful completion of the work assigned to them by their foreman. Individuals are also expected to:
- Work safely while adhering to Crisdel's Safety Program & Guidelines as well as adhering to all federal, state and local rules and regulations.
- Adhere to the guidelines set forth in Crisdel's Employment Handbook.
- Work with pride, integrity and honor in an ethical manner which promotes Crisdel in a superior manner.
- Maintain a positive working relationship between co-workers and employees of subcontractors, vendors, inspectors and agency individuals working on a Crisdel job site.
- Work in a productive and efficient manner while maintaining the highest level of quality work.
- Be self-motivated and ambitious.
- Be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Report to work on time, take meal breaks only during the allocated time periods and report back to work until the end of the designated shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPhysical demands of this position include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, twisting, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, dexterity of utilizing hands and fingers, seeing (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception), hearing and speaking.
TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONSTypical work conditions include working outside on a construction site and/or roadway project while being exposed to noise, heat and varying weather conditions. Depending on the schedule of an individual project, work may be required during the day, at night or on weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have a valid driver's license that meets state requirements (CDL preferred, but not required) and clear of multiple and/or major violations.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle records check, and criminal background check.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
