A description of the business units can be found at: Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas: TAXPAYER SERVICES CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE, RELATIONSHIP AND EDUCATION Distribution - Correspondence Production Services - Operations Bloomington The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. The incumbent performs very heavy manual labor including lifting and moving very heavy furniture, equipment, supplies and outgoing mail through confined spaces at a Correspondence Production Services site. Duties are as follows: - Uses weight-handling equipment including fork-lifts and pallet jacks and moves forms, supplies, equipment and finished mail to and from a warehouse or staging area. Delivers positions and stacks boxes, trays, and pallets of materials safely and effectively in storage and work areas. Operates packaging equipment such as banding, shrink wrap machines, straps, and wraps packages, mail trays, and pallets for shipment. Loads stock in staging areas and inserts equipment according to established procedures. Assembles mail trays onto pallets for shipment according to established procedures. Cleans office and light industrial space, equipment, machinery and floors as directed. Takes inventories of quantities of specific forms and materials by counting boxes or pallets as requested. Verifies physical inventory accuracy against inventory records and identifies differences. Follows appropriate procedures when moving stock and materials to maintain accountability of these items. Pulls items using appropriate equipment and delivers them to specified locations. Performs minor maintenance and repairs on office furniture and equipment using common hand and power tools. Operates office equipment such as a table-top folder and inserter, mail meter or photocopier. Disposes of materials and used items through shredding, recycling, or waste disposal according to established procedures. Unpacks cartons by hand or using simple hand tools. Loads and unloads mail/supplies on trucks. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Lifting often may be from floor level to eye level. WG-03 To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. To be qualifying your experience should demonstrate the following: Able to perform very heavy manual labor including lifting and moving very heavy equipment and supplies through confined spaces. Use weight-handling equipment to move forms, supplies, property, and equipment to and from the warehouse. Possess knowledge and skill in the operation and control of heavy power equipment and know how to work safely with heavy tools. Operation of weight-handling devices such as electric hand trucks, pallet jacks and dollies to move very heavy loads. Prior job experience or on-the-job training is normally required to gain this level of manual skill. Physical Requirement: Able to exert very heavy physical effort in performing such tasks as lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds and operating heavy equipment.
