ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate possible hazards.
- Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
- Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools
- Configure pipe routes.
- Assemble gas piping and equipment.
- Follow safety standards throughout process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
- Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
- Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License
- Class A CDL preferred
- Must be willing to travel throughout Wisconsin
- Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred
- Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred
WORKING ENVIRONMENT This position works outdoors in various weather conditions that are not deemed unworkable (i.e. negative degree weather, excessive heat, rain, wind, etc.).
