We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Addiction Counselors (LAC) to join our team in Canon City, Pueblo, Limon and Buena Vista, CO. As an Addiction Counselor, you will play a crucial role in helping incarcerated individuals overcome substance abuse and addiction. You will provide counseling, support, and guidance to patients, helping them on their journey to recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to determine the severity of addiction and develop personalized treatment plans
- Provide individual counseling sessions to address underlying issues contributing to addiction
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote peer support and encourage open communication
- Utilize clinical counseling techniques to help patients develop coping strategies and healthy behaviors
- Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Collect data on patient progress and outcomes for research purposes
- Stay informed about the latest developments in addiction treatment and incorporate evidence-based practices into counseling sessions
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Valid licensure or certification as an Addiction Counselor (e.g., LAC...)
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities and therapeutic interventions
- Proficiency in patient assessment using tools such as ICD-9 codes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
