Job Description:
Position Summary: Directs daily tasks related to manning, production, quality, and safety to produce wire.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Confirm vacation schedule, call-in's, fill-in's and other manning to create set assignments.
  • Organize changeovers, package changes and make any IP labels are missing.
  • Verify production schedule and maintenance issues prior to the start of shift walk-around. Facilitate completion of any maintenance problems that would prevent optimum production.
  • Complete shift walk-around prior to start of shift to identify any potential quality issues, by monitoring housekeeping and organization of sets, check for supplies, obtain drawing dies, check parent tags on each set and other related tasks.
  • Complete required reports during shift.
  • Perform required safety inspections on equipment.
  • Write work orders according to needs.
  • Review operation and change over checklists for follow-up.
  • Ensure operators are performing quality checks and conducts quality checks as needed.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor to identify any issues occurring during shift and to provide regular updates.
  • Put ovens together as needed.
  • Be a source of expertise and training for all shift employees.
  • Prepare for next shift by reviewing manning, set schedules, upcoming change overs, and performing wire counts.
  • Active member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) team.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment.
  • All other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the manufacturing site including high temperatures. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing stairs, reach above and below chest level, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with arms. This position works at various levels. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds and may be exposed to chemical, non-toxic fumes or dust. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Work Environment: The employee will occasionally be exposed to Cold Temperatures 100 degrees. The environment is well lit; The noise level in the environment is loud due to exposure and use of fork trucks, but employee may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels on occasion, hearing protection is required. Employee may be occasionally required to enter confined spaces.
    Qualifications Required:
    • A thorough knowledge of magnet wire process
    • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Able to meet ERT qualifications
    • First Aid, CPR and AED certified
    • Able to lead work groups
    • Able to trouble shoot equipment issues
    • Able to communicate verbally and written
    Qualifications Desired:
    • Past Supervisory Experience
    Performance Standards:
    • Annual performance appraisal
    • Attainment of annual goals established between manager and incumbent.
