Roles & Responsibilities:Position OverviewLead the development, implementation and maintenance of a park Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management system that meets the requirements of applicable Parques Reunidos HSE standards and federal, state, and local requirements. Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable legal and Parques Reunidos HSE requirements in the park assigned.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Develop, implement and monitor the park HSE management system at assigned primary and ancillary parks
- Develop and update park HSE procedures and instructions to prevent injury to workers and guests to prevent environmental or property damage at primary and assigned ancillary parks
- Incorporate Parques Reunidos HSE standards and local legal HSE requirements into park procedures and training at primary and assigned ancillary parks
- Support park management team in the deployment and delivery of Parques Reunidos HSE standards and procedures at primary and assigned ancillary parks
- Provide expertise to park management team on HSE topics, including but not limited to local HSE legislation, risk assessment, and preventive and protective measures, emergency management, incident reporting, PPE, safety coordination of suppliers and contractors, audits and inspections, waste management, identification and evaluation and monitoring of environmental impacts
- Collaborate as subject matter expert in the development of Parques Reunidos and Palace Entertainment standards
- Encourage and promote commitment by the park management, staff, suppliers, and contractors to Parques Reunidos HSE values and requirements
- Conduct ongoing proactive risk assessments, together with park management team and other relevant stakeholders, to identify and minimize potential risks in all aspects of park operations
- Act as liaison with the Health, Safety and Environment representatives of contractors and suppliers to ensure alignment and compliance with Parques Reunidos expectations
- Perform self-audits and inspections at primary and assigned ancillary parks to verify compliance with HSE standards, procedures and applicable local HSE regulations. Carry out the controls and checks needed to ensure that products and services provided by the park(s) meet the applicable HSE standards and regulations. Reports findings and recommendations to park management and/or the Palace Entertainment Regional Director of HSE
- Perform HSE cross-audits in other parks of the group, acting as lead auditor or support auditor, as per Parques Reunidos HSE Audit Program as assigned
- Ensure that equipment, including maintenance equipment, amusement devices, attractions, and rides meet applicable industry standards, as defined by local regulations, applicable ASTM, Parques Reunidos, and Palace Entertainment standards at primary and assigned ancillary parks
- Prepare, coordinate, and present HSE related training programs for employees as needed
- Develop and implement emergency response procedures, including planning and coordination of drills/exercises and training, as applicable at assigned and assigned ancillary parks
- Investigate HSE related incidents to determine causes, prepare incident reports, perform trend analysis, and recommend remedial and preventive actions
- Provide guidance and support to assist HSE team members at assigned ancillary parks to ensure timely and accurate incident investigation, reporting and analysis
- Monitor and confirm completion of follow-up actions for HSE related findings arising from audits, inspections, incident investigations and regulatory or Parques Reunidos requirements
- Prepare periodical HSE performance reports and provide park management with results
- Identify weaknesses and deficiencies in the park HSE management system and recommend corrective actions to park management
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of Parques Reunidos Sustainability Reports for assigned and ancillary parks
Requirements Education: University or Technical School Degree or Diploma. Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety Sciences, or related technical field is preferred. Equivalent safety management experience may be considered. Languages: English Computer Skills: Working experience with Microsoft Office Experience: More than 3 years' experience managing HSE, preferable in the amusement or leisure industry. Others: Attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to effectively manage HSE systems and processes, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and set priorities, ability to communicate requirements and guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce
