This is a two-year academic appointment beginning in August 2025. The Lamar PIR will work closely with students and faculty in the Manship School on creative projects and initiatives that provide students with unique opportunities for a more critical, in-depth understanding of political communication. The focus of these collaborative projects will fit the background and expertise of the PIR and could result in journalistic projects and/or other public-facing, creative works such as a community initiative, industry partnership, or other impactful work. The position will include teaching responsibilities as well as an opportunity to work with the Reilly Center to develop public engagement opportunities. Successful applicants will be expected to teach two classes each fall semester and one class each spring semester in their area of expertise. Job Duties:Teach a 2/2 course load (two classes in the fall semester, two classes in the spring semester) - 50%Investigate industry trends and leverage expertise to work with students and faculty on projects.
