What you'll do

* Assist Land Development Managers to achieve approvals of land use & zoning, preliminary & final plats, permitting, engineering & landscape plans

* Process contracts, change orders, and pay applications, to include updates of accounting software and budgets

* Process subdivision, utility, and pre-servicing agreements

* A/P related duties to include the contracting, change orders, pay applications, and close-out

* Manage letters of credit, performance bonds and certificate of occupancy hold agreements

* Pursue bond exonerations upon the completion of land development activities

* Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and other financial management including conveyance to municipalities

* Answer phones and perform various administrative tasks for manager and land team

* Perform other related duties as assigned

* Assist with the management of land development projects from acquisition to final assumption, with liaison between Sales, Marketing, Building/Architecture, Government Authorities, Consulting team and Contractors

* Additional responsibilities to be discussed

What you bring

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Land Planning, Construction Management, Law, Finance or related field strongly preferred

* 5+ years' experience in accounting within the homebuilding and/or land development industry

* Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills

* Extensive knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook

* Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written

* Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet hard deadlines

* Self-motivated with ability to work well on a team

* Ability and willingness to learn and grow professionally

* Excellent project coordination skills in assisting team's work efforts

* Detail oriented, strong communicator, and team player

Bonus points

* Experience with JD Edward preferred, or other larger ERP software
