This position is for a Survey Crew Chief who will work on projects throughout the state of Indiana. Depending on where the candidate lives, they will be based out of one of the following offices: Fort Wayne, Goshen, South Bend, or Lafayette.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* In charge of the daily activities of field Survey crew
* In charge of daily crew operations such as construction staking, subdivision staking, boundary and topographic surveys
* Prepares daily field notes on projects
* Performs minor calculations in the field for staking
* Performs daily data uploads and downloads
* Maintains survey equipment and vehicles
* Provide direction to survey technicians
* Perform quality control
* May require travel and overnight stay. Daily per diem provided for lodging and meals
Qualifications & Skills:
* 5+ years of survey construction layout experience
* Experience with Topcon equipment with magnet field software a plus
* Ability to perform data collector calculations
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans
* Ability to work independently
* Organizational skills in order to plan, schedule work and complete assignments within established timeframes
* Capable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects and technicians
