Job Description:
Land Surveyor Technician (In Training) Location: Houston, TX Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 Position Overview Kuo & Associates (KUO) are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Surveyor (In Training) who will play a crucial role in supporting the land surveying and property research activities of the company. Your primary responsibilities will include interpreting deeds, plats, and other real property abstracting information to extract relevant data, retrieving necessary documents from a variety of sources, and preparing boundary sketches using AutoCAD software. In addition, you will collaborate closely with a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to conduct boundary research and analysis and assist in the preparation of boundary maps and metes and bounds descriptions for various sites and streets. This role requires a keen attention to detail, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of land surveying principles. By leveraging your skills and expertise, you will contribute to the accurate and efficient completion of surveying projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.   • Key Responsibilities:
    • Understanding deeds, plats and other real property abstracting information
    • Retrieve deeds/plats, etc form various sources such as County Clerk's office, City of Houston, TxDOT, independent abstractors, etc.
    • Prepare boundary sketches out of deeds, plats, etc. in AutoCAD
    • Assist RPLS on boundary research & analysis
    • Assist RPLS on managing day to day survey field crews, preparing field work tasks and processing field data for the position of Surveyor in Training
    • Prepare boundary map & metes and bounds description for site & streets under supervision of a Registered Surveyor
    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Associate or 4 years college degree
    • Basic knowledge & experience in AutoCAD
    • SIT Certification preferred, not mandatory
